Dart Rules

Dart rules are not written in stone. As a matter of fact, many difference kinds of darts games have evolved out of the notion that some darts rules simply were no fun for those who wanted to play and thus a new form of game was invented. Sometimes these games varied slightly from the original, and other times the original game is barely discernable behind the scoring, tipping, and turn taking. For example, the rules for darts when playing round the clock specify that turns are taken during which each of the players throw three darts. Aiming for sequential accuracy, dart games rules demand that the first dart will land in the one point area, with the last try ending in the cork. Those who thought these darts regulations were too simple, decided to change the official darts rules and thus the game of jumpers was born. In this form of play the dart game rules still demand a numerically sequential hit of the board’s sections yet hitting the trebles will actually add more points and thus lead to a person’s ability to jump the points.

While darts rules and regulations may even vary from bar to bar, league to league and club to club, the darts rules, regulations, and forms of play that are engaged in during official tournaments do not nearly offer as much leeway. As a matter of fact, regulations for steel dart game play or other throwing disciplines during tourneys are so strict that often referees will argue millimeters with one another to ensure that no dart rules were broken to the unfair advantage of one player. Similarly, the guarding of official dart rules creates a sense of fairness around the world for those who compete worldwide, and even though dart rules are sometimes hotly debated and argued – and even entire feuds have been started over them – they are a necessity.
